they both take 5 years to bring out their latest release

this isn't a jab at SymX of course, just venting my frustration that 'a dance with dragons' has changed its proposed release date from september this year to at least april 2009, and Amazon seems to have withdrawn its proposed release date altogether for the meantime - though if you read his blog he has not been doing any work on it lately so of course it was being a little too optimistic to think it could be released by this year..

maybe he WILL die like robert jordan before he finishes the series *runs off crying*

anyway yes im a george martin nerd, but i can think of at least 2 people (ken and jeff) who might be interested in this news haha.

I am interested too! I like the series a lot so far. Hopefully he won't die or screw the series up like Jordan did. (Seriously, Wheel Of Time went from pretty good to absolutely fucking horrible)

Another connection I thought to the books and Symphony X by the way: lyrics of Seven. "It's fire and ice...":heh:

Kind of a side question, but any of you ever read the Dark Tower series? Best fantasy series ever IMO.

For those of you reading the Dark Tower, I hope you don't already know the ending. The greatest ending to anything ever!

actually i havent read any dark tower... i mean i got through part of the gunslinger, it hadnt really grabbed me much yet, but then i wanted to go back to it recently and it's disappeared off my book shelf!! i don't know if i should be bothered trying to buy it again or what..

The first book is kinda slow, but trust me, it picks up, the second and third books are two of the best books I've ever read. The whole series is good though.

I dunno about that claim my friend.

DWD delayed again. At least I know it won't disappoint when it arrives, another thing GRRM and SX have in common. Ironically Wolfe has a new book out next month, and the fabled Lexicon Urthus is back in print, dropping the price from $400 to $26!

I'm really looking forward to starting AGoT, although I was looking at the length of them and a few where 1000+ pages. It will take me forever with school starting soon to get through them.

Also, this series doesn't take a nose dive after the first or second book, does it?

My favourite series. Now reading the fourth book, Wizard & Glass. :kickass:
The Waste Lands (3rd book) is my fave :) I love the cover too...Blaine FTW. I need to pick up the 2nd set of Marvel Dark Tower comics...The Gunslinger Born was great.
