No matter what your intentions are, you come off as a genuine asshole to a lot of people, and whenever anyone has a bone to pick with you, you just shove them off and say "Oh, I wasn't being serious." If you're not being serious, then why do you do it? This is an actual question out of curiosity here.
I can't be expected to account for people interpreting what I say in a way that I did not intend. I do not intentionally come off as an asshole, and in fact I believe that those who perceive me as an asshole would be the minority. As far as people "picking bones" with me, I'm really not sure what you could be referring to. Who has a bone to pick with me? Who has picked bones with me? Maybe I'm not understanding the way that you're using the term, but I can't recall any examples. As far as shoving people off and saying that I wasn't serious, well, it would most likely be because I was not being serious and did not mean to be taken seriously. If I say something in jest and I'm taken seriously, what should my response be other than "I wasn't being serious?"
