Thanks. I wasn't present at the drum recording session but judging from the files I got they must have used horrible cymbals and quite imbalanced as well - the high-hat is super shrill and a lot louder than the rest. I might try to tame it with more automation.

Do it myself, wouldn't trust any guitarist that would allow that kind of playing in their band to play it

well... if that happens quite often to you, there are only two possibilities:
1.) send him home to practice
2.) buy trillian, send him home and tell him to tab his stuff

prevents a lotta headache
