she commited manslaughter by wrecking a car she was driving and seriously injuring one passenger and killing the other (who was on life support for two days and just died this morning, I think).
No word on a trial or anything yet but she was definitely under the influence (blew a .12) and it's thought she was also on a barbituate of some kind.
she was tanked, i think that's a significant fact because you can commit manslaughter in a variety of ways that aren't really your fault. but this wasn't exactly one of them.
oh, yeah, I was in no way saying that this wasn't her fault. in fact, she SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES to try and stop the passsengers from arguing. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
i guess me too, for the same reason i made myself finish Jane Smiley's A THOUSAND ACRES...just so i could say it blew intelligently and authoritatively.
An English girl who goes to St. Andrew's and is studying here for a year was telling me that haggis is good, and I suggested that she try chitlins to see if she likes all gross foods or just those that come from her homeland.
