What's the go-to preamp for metal guitar?

I know a lot of people love api and great river for drums, but what is everyone's go to preamp for high gain guitar? I currently have a Universal audio 610 and a grove tubes brick but I think they are both giving me a bit too much color and I want a pre that is going to really shine for metal guitar...

thoughts, opinions?

Probably the Chandler LTD Germanium. It also comes with a DI (for emergencies).

I love my Universal Audio 2108! It's a now-discontinued pre that UA made with components from the 1176 compressor, and it's possibly my favorite piece of gear. It normally gets the job over API 3124, Chandler Germanium, Vintech Dual72, and Focusrite ISA428. I also really love the Great River MP2NV (but you mentioned that already).

I always like either the API 3124 or 512c.
