What's the story behind...

I'm not exactly sure when he did that but I do have their first album which was released in 1990. The cd booklet contains a picture of Glenn in which the cross on his forehead is fully visible. However, this is one of the "Roadrunner Remaster" copies, which is a newer version so that picture may not have been in the original release. Anyway, I just think it would be funny to see someone with something like that on their forehead doing something completely mundane like buying milk at the grocery store. The looks Glenn gets from people must be priceless.

he did that when he was younger. at first he would always just paint it on his forehead, then he decided to get a cross and burn it into his head - took him a long time to actually get the scar to stay how he wanted it.

it still looks fucking crooked to me though :tickled:

That guy is fucking crazy. He lets the stupid christian book bother him too much. Yeah, i agree, bible sucks donkey balls, but you dont need to use too much time on bashing it. More like ignore it all the time, and bash sometimes...

I mean i would never burn something on my forehead because of something vain. Not that i would disagree with his ideology or anything.
Anyway, Satan must love him, since he has so hellish vocals.

Haha I read an interview that asked him what he does when he's around his kids with that thing. He was all dodgy and trying to evade the question, it was hysterical.

I read a similar interview. The guy asked him if he explained it to his kids, and he responded "How the fuck do you explain something like that to your kids!?"

The fact that he's so preoccupied with blaspheming Christianity might indicate that he actually has genuine feeling for the religion, maybe even love for it. You know, it's the old "you kill the one you love the most" thing.

Hahahahaha. Was it Pit magazine?

"Cannot live with the fact that theyre wrong" -Deicide-Trick Or Betrayed

I think thats whats its about. But what the hell is that thing with kids? Why cant he just say "i think that the bible sucks, because its full of illogical lies and it has a twisted image of evil, and i let it show by mocking their symbol". Yeah, that wouldnt be too hard. Why did he evade the question? I mean that is starting to sound poserish. I mean if he thinks that bible sucks, whats so terrible about telling that to his kids? He tells it to rest of the fucking world.

So hes proud about it to everyone else but his kids?

If i remember correct, he was raised to be a christian, and he had religional angst about all the stupid bullshit they tought him and now hes angry.

Haha what an emo bastard.

Yeah I agree, if he can't tell his kids and bring them up in his ideal society, then he is a poser Satanist.

Heh, on Metal Mania Eddie Trunk and Dee Snider were talking about Glenn Benton.

Eddie: "So the promoter, as a joke, asked Glenn if he'll play a show in Tampa on Christmas. He reportedly said 'No way man, it's christmas, I gotta spend time with my kids!'"

Dee: *uncontrollable laughter*

Yup I have that issue. The Azrael interview is fucking ridiculous.
The Azrael interview was... interesting.

To us, the Goat represents timeless inner strength, and outer mystery, and detachment from everyting around it. We feel aligned with the Goat in the respect that we do not associate with any society or group withen civilization and only feel connected to the Earth and the animalistic/primitive side of the human psyche.

They're some interesting individuals.

Dee Snider may have looked like a chick in the 80s, but he sure does know what's funny.

Yeah We'll he was one Fugly woman lol hell he is one Fugly dude as well lol .. :tickled: :yuk: :ill: .. i did/do like TS's music though... one of the first metal bands i got into back in 1984/5 ....

I read Glen started doing it when he was young and used to sneak into churches and turn the pews around so the congregation's back was to the altar. Anyway, he would burn it every third Sunday of the month and eventually it got deep enough that he could stick a silver crucifix into it and it would stay.

I read that in some magazine probably ten years ago. It may have even been Rolling Stone...

He started off the interview saying, "All I want to do is kill all the Christians." and talked about punching people when they looked at him funny. He has since settled way down.

he kinda explain it on the bonus dvd that comes with scars of the crucifix. he used to do it with makeup, then he decided he couldnt be fucked anymore so he burnt it into his forehead once a month for a few months and now its permanent.
and i agree, it is fucking crooked. maybe he's a slayer fan, seeing life from "behind the crooked cross" as it were..
