got the amp few days ago, and dammit there's something wrong with it.

the tone of the amp sounds absolutely horrible, its punch just aint there and when u hit the open chord it fades out after 2 seconds (which i think should not happen on a high-gain amplifier). it reminds me of a tone when u play with a broken cable. yes, i did check cables and tried out 5-6 brand new cables and 2 different guitars.

i noticed there was 1 dead preamp tube and i switched on a new one, didnt help.
powertubes seem to be workin fine, cause it's loud when u crank up the master volume.

it has full warranty but i'd like to know what might be causin this so i can pinpoint the issue.

any ideas?

Definitely a failing tube.
But the amp really does sound horrible, doesnt have any punch or anything.

I was looking at buying one back when i played in my first band.. but i ended up buying a solid state one instead, because the RH sounded like dogshit taco(without the taco.).

I have the combo version. The amp is really not that great, sounds pretty muddy even through my Vader. Too much bass and nowhere near enough bite, although it sounds good for leads, and everything to turns to shit when you turn it up.

It's basically a shitty wanna be marshall. Sorry man
