my fave band has been classified as "power", which i mostly hate, i'd rather consider 'em progressive thrash = NEVERMORE.

progressive thrash = NEVERMORE

Nevermore isn't power, I'd say prog thrash works though.

1. Thrash (Testament, Nevermore, Death Angel)
2. Instrumental progressive metal/rock (Dysrhythmia, Kopecky, Echosilence)
3. Celtic folk metal (Tuatha de Danann, um, Tuatha de Danann...)
4. Brutal death/black (Kult ov Azazel, Zyklon, Cryptopsy)

my favourite kind of metal is probably Scandinavian metal with an emotional yet aggressive and progressive touch, such as Vintersorg, Opeth, Borknagar, Arcturus...
