Just curious what any of you guys use for actually getting those sounds into your computer.

I use a boatload of Audix microphones (mostly fusion series with an i5 on my snare) thrown into a Presonus Firepod, hooked up to my Macbook Pro running Studio One. Been treatin' me good so far.

That looks pretty decent. I am pretty hopeless in this dept. I always had a setup at the lock out that my drummer threw together. Now I'm trying to suss out something at home, and realize how little I know. I've got Sonar on the computer, and an Alesis minimix12 hooked up to the computer, with some 57's hooked to it. I need to be able to start recording scratch track within the next week or two, and I'm just completely out of my element. How does your setup work exactly?

I went for ultra basic, so it just goes like this:

Drums -> Microphones -> Presonus FP10 -> Computer running Studio One. Here's the visual:

I'm far from an expert, but it works and comes out sounding pretty good most of the time. I was aiming for simple, meaning a minimum of hardware and things needing to be hooked together. The only difficulty is fiddling with the ten million aspects of mixing/mastering to get a finished product.

Currently I'm working into triggering the kick just for educational purposes. Haven't really put anything together yet, since my latest nightmare has been a 12" tom that doesn't feel like resonating and a snare that has a strange ring-out now and again.

Hoping to do some recording work as time goes on, lay tracks down for anyone who could use a mediocre drummer like m'self. Work doesn't let me do any real gigging (four-week shift rotation with mornings/evenings/weekends sprinkled randomly), so my only real ability to be in a band is virtually! :P

I don't have many gear of recording
but for demo rec: i use Guitar ---> sansAmp or GDI 21 --> PC line In and record with oldest Cool Edit that i was download on warez forum.. lol
but from studio i have better... I use Randall warhead head with any available Cabinets and again use SansAmp only (GDI21 too much noise for recording) for booster.. and i will get nasty sounds and mix it with analog mixer so i will get Natural Sound
