...When love was an human emotion...

And the Aussie PM is not exactly the brightest bulb in the room either, right?

Tell me about it.... The fact that he got re-elected only confirmed this country's general stupidity, not to mention general lack of compassion regarding the immigrant question (wait... in Australia they're called 'queue jumpers'...)

I don't believe in nationalism either. After all, it's probably caused more wars than religion. But I do realise that the spirit of a community and country is rather important. Especially in Australia, the people love to refer to their 'spirit' and 'little Aussie battler' crap.

Perhaps put even more simply- while I'm not a fan of nationalism, I still don't want to become an American in Australia.

I know this is completely off the subject... but maybe not too much so... Do you know how much it's going to suck when we colonize mars or whatever planet? Who's gonna have "the first billboard on mars?" Mars will become exactly like earth. Haha sorry for my ramblings. I only have one remark on the previously stated comment. Globalization is like, as one post said, "the problem and solution. I mean, America is pretty much the only country with enough money to propose such a program and their intentions are good... however, like EVERYONE else on the face of the planet, they are striving towards self-betterment, in this case it is through money. I think America is becoming the scapegoat a little bit for merely being the first to propose it. So until humans can detach themselves from selfishness in the form of money and imposing beliefs on others so that they "will become like them and therefore better," this conflict will never end.

p.s. I'm just waiting for somebody to instigate a capitalist govt. vs. any other govt debate. Or for that matter, america's capitilistic attitude behind the mask of democracy. I can't wait! Please oh please someone do it. haha bye

can someone explain the difference between globalisation and global communism?
@nihilism....what about capitalist governments vs. socialist governments

Just another aspect of U.S arrogance. While the mighty 'U.S of A' may spell words with a 'z', I can assure you that the rest of the English speaking world doesn't.

No offence to those who understand a little more than Evisceratix in the way of grammatical English.

Whether you want to believe it or not, US imperialism is as real as anything. So "getting real" for many people implies lying down for the US juggernaut.

I walk into a clothing store in Australia and 25% of the clothes have either a US flag adorning the front, or the US flag colours in a shape (ie. a star, a number etc.), decorating it. 80% of television is U.S, fast food chains proliferate the landscape, American pop dominates the charts.

Globalisation appears in many ways. I, for one, am sick of it.

appy-polly-loggies. there goes my american arrogance again, making me say things like "the word globalization is officially spelled with a "z", you better spell it that way too!" hehe no wait, i didnt say that. i just said "i think its spelled" blahblahblah. so theres a grammatical detail for you to consider. :)
i just didnt like the way that guy, who basically came out of nowhere and spammed the board with his propaganda, was phrasing his grievances...i was trying to be a smart ass, not tell the world how to spell a word...
gløbåli-fuckin-zätiön
who cares how you spell it? i thought my post was stupid and later in the day thought to myself as i was driving around, "why the fuck did i write a lame reply to a lame post?"

globalization is defined in my big bad ass USA dictionary as "to make global/to make worldwide in scope or application"

and the music aspect of that i for one will never be sick of. your totally right, globalization appears in many ways-like ive got all these favorite bands from everywhere but the USA. like the magnificent katatonia from sweden.
that just kicks ass.
