When this gets going, is there anything heavier? Clip

Man I really don't like listening to dubstep but to call it shit is a little weird.
It's incredbly alien, but that's why it's fascinating.
It doesn't make sense, which is exactly why it makes sense.

Some dubstep is great, some is shit. Just like any other genre.

Here's a few of my favorites:

Didn't sound heavy to me at all. Sounded super compressed, and lacking in stereo width. But then if you need a subwoofer to sound heavy....

I regard 90% of Dubstep as what happens when you let people that can't play try to write songs.

But then I have similar opinions about metal.

I didn't call it shit, I was referring to it rather than describing it.
But the genre is (in my mind anyway) the electronic version of deathcore, basically you just wait for the drop (as opposed to a breakdown)
But the melodic style of most electronic (most non metal come to think of it) music makes me want to cut my own throat out with a rusty fork.

Yep. I was thinking along the same lines but more Djenty.

You have the clean delayed crystal intros, the build up then all hell breaks loose.

I'm not the biggest electronic fan, but I do like some. I tend to go for more the grime/rock/electronica type stylings however with the stuff I do enjoy. I'm a particular fan of Kosheen - "Resist" and "Damage" are great disc sandwiching the somewhat lackluster "Kokopelli". I'm sure I'll pick up "Independence" whenever it's released. I'll admit that I'm much more in tune with heavy metal sub genre classifications than those of electronic styles.

Don't think you should use the word grime to describe that sort of thing in the future ;)

Grime......
