Today heavy metal fans across the nation heard the news they've been hoping for from "House of Hair" nationally syndicated radio host and TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider.

"It is my distinct pleasure to announce that TWISTED SISTER will once again be involved with a show that will go down in history. On July 15th, TWISTED has just been confirmed as the headliner for the Rocklahoma festival," Snider said during his weekly radio show. "Rocklahoma will go down as one of the most momentous concerts of all time."

TWISTED SISTER's Rocklahoma appearance is the band's only announced North American show for 2007.

TWISTED SISTER, full on with costume, make-up and all five original members — Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Mark "The Animal" Mendoza, Eddie "Fingers" Ojedaand AJ Pero — along with 22 bands from that era will appear at Rocklahoma, the largest rock festival of its kind to ever be organized. To date, Rocklahoma's three-day line-up includes:

Friday, July 13:

POISON
RATT
QUIET RIOT
SLAUGHTER
Y&T
WHITE LION

Saturday, July 14:

VINCE NEIL
DOKKEN
WINGER
SKID ROW
WARRANT
FIREHOUSE
ENUFF Z'NUFF
FASTER PUSSYCAT
BULLETBOYS
BANG TANGO

Sunday, July 15:

TWISTED SISTER
W.A.S.P.
JACKYL
GREAT WHITE
L.A. GUNS
BRITNY FOX

Snider added: "When I tell you that this will be the most incredible lineup ever, you have to believe me. Check it out. Over three days, you'll have the chance to see so many bands that your head might explode — like that dude in the JUDAS PRIEST [1982] video for 'You've Got Another Thing Comin.']"

Although rumors have been circulating about whether or not band members might retire TWISTED SISTER, Snider recently put an end to those rumors by discussing Rocklahoma.

"On the TWISTED SISTER retirement front: Ain't happening," he said. "We're strappin' on the spandex one more time."

Rocklahoma, an official Oklahoma Centennial event presented by Rock Fever and Miller Lite, will be held July 13-15, 2007, at the Catch the Fever Festival Grounds four miles north of Pryor, OK just off highway 69.

Tickets to Rocklahoma are currently on sale and available by calling toll free (866) 310-2288 or online at www.rockfeverfest.com.

For anyone who likes 80s hair metal, my old band just released a limited edition EP. Feel free to check it out please.

too bad I'll be in Houston TX that same weekend enjoying some current metal. :Smug:

granted I love me some 80's hair metal, but there's fewer bands on that whole Rocklahoma roster I'd care to see in this day and age than all of the bands on the Texas Madfest roster. :kickass:

Love the lineup…but I’ll pass on the 3-day camping experience.

Now that I’m approaching the big 4-0, I prefer to cap off my evenings of out-of-town headbanging with a trip back to a hotel that has air conditioned rooms and serves hot breakfast!

But I do hope someone catches some good footage for “You Tube” of park officials trying to enforce the 2:30 a.m. “quiet time.”

Heh. I like a few of those bands. But I won't be going. I think it will do well though. That is, if the number of people who will show up to see many of those bands's tribute/cover bands... yeah.

Laugh all you will, but hair metal was really my first steps towards heavy metal. This line-up is freakin' ridiculous. Wish I lived a little closer to Oklahoma.

It would be fun to attend, but I'll be overseas. Otherwise, the wife and I might finally have had a reason to go to Oklahoma.

Steve in Philly

P.S. - Interesting that a bunch of those bands have different lead singers than in their heyday.

M,mmmmmm...Lets see,Madfest or Rockahoma
I'd see this if I was in the vicinity and there was no Madfest(I hope this doesn't cut into Madfest's attendence)

And IMO,how many bands are actually basicly tribute bands of their former selves(ie Dark Match versions with like only 1 or 2 origional members,on their 3rd vocalists, ect)
and(warning, this next part of this post will probably be offensive,so read on at your own risk......
