I need to figure out where the hell this comes from.

This is something I discovered today while recording some shitty drum tracks for Scott (Waterboy). When I record arm my tracks, in this case the drums, I get that noise in the background and it accumulates for each active track. The "farting" sound you can hear is from when I move sliders and stuff in the application, so it seems to be something my computer generates.
You've probably heard this before, I know I have atleast. It's the same thing on the computers at my university, I can hear the computer's "inside", just in the same way as in my case, but I can't shut it off, I don't know where the sound comes from.
I don't have the standard Windows Mixer, it's replaced by my M-Audio drivers for my Delta1010LT, but I looked through the options in there and couldn't shut the damn noise off.
Damn it, it's so annoying... kinda loud too, I can hear it when I listen to drums solo, given that the drums don't play too fast and shit but on a slow beat, I can hear that noise between the hits.
