Nope. Never did. Sure talked the talk, though.I remember that guy...did he ever actually put anything on this forum that he actually worked on?
I always liked the guy. I was curious to see his CV after the comments he made, but he posted good advice for the most part.
The closest hint he gave was that he'd assisted for Paul Northfield on a Suicidal Tendencies album....from what I could work out it was probably the "Suicidal for Life" album. He'd also mentioned something about working at Ocean Way (where the SFL album was done) as well...
"I worked with ST (and PN) back in the late 90's. I still have the SUICIDAL shirt that they gave me, which Mike and Dean made themselves in their garage."
Suicidal Tendencies releases that were produced and/or mixed by Paul Northfield AND played on by Dean Pleasants:
Six The Hard Way (1998)
Recorded @ Ocean Studios and Skip Saylor Studios
Freedumb (1999)
Recorded and mixed @ Ocean Studios and Skip Saylor Studios
Free Your Soul and Save My Mind (2000)
Mixed @ Skip Saylor Studios
"I once asked my old boss Skip Saylor why he didn't have a 862 and he said, "I do, right here" then he pointed to a Distressor and a Pultec."
"I have never done one single session in 10 years without being on the chronic. I'll agree with Andy that it is unprofessional to do in front of your paying clients, unless they're the ones passing it to you. Even then, it's best to turn it down. Skip Saylor used to tell me "Go for a quick walk. You don't want your clients to see you doing that". Then again, my main client ended up being the world's most famous rapper - who was on the cover of High Times two years in a row as 'Stoner of the Year'. "

"Before I went independent, I had the good fortune of working with some really great producers and engineers. Some of the rock artists that I worked with during those times would include Sepultura, Scorpions, Santana, Suicidal Tendencies..."
