I've been searching for a reasonably priced 5150 / 5150 II / 6505 etc for something like two months and I am having absolutely no luck.

They're selling in Australia for anywhere between $1800 and $2100. Its absolutely insane.

You have to watch eBay, gumtree, and the perthbands forums like a hawk. I've seen two different 6505's in the last fortnight selling for $1k and $1.2k respectively - these were the ASKING prices.

If you not living in the US, then you just have to play the waiting game and keep a eye on your local "craiglist".

Here in Denmark they pop up once in a while, but sometimes there is like a dry period with nothing new happening for months.

I got a 6505 2x12 in a custom road case for $800 back in November from Kijiji (Craigslist sort of thing, might be specific to Canada). There's usually one or two around the same price range whenever I'm on there.

I sold mine about 3 months ago for $750... it was an '05 model 6505 in mint condition with brand new tubes and was a package deal with a TS-9. I paid $650 for it with mediocre year old tubes.

I'd love to buy an amp overseas but after shipping and getting the voltage switched etc probably some repairs after transit and the general issues most used 5150s have it's not that much cheaper. Anything over $1000 gets annihilated with tax here when importing.

Thanks for the tip on Perth bands completely forgot about that place!!!
