When you guys made your band, what member was the most difficult to find.
I thought we had a drummer and he backed out before we could even begin.
Actually I need one with a fldnkn garage. I live in the bay area and most drummers are taken or like punk/alternative crap, I tried craigslist but nothing, got any suggestions?

Haha, drummers are hell, our thrash band has gone through three drummers in a little more than a year of existence while none of the other members have even thought of quitting... Good luck is all I can say

Drummers are a nightmare, yes. My band went through 13 in a year, most we ever saw of them was one guy who turned up to one practise...without his kit :loco:

Recently it's changed and it's lead guitarists who enjoy Metal who I can't find...

I might be famous by now if I could have found the right drummer. Just joking of course, but finding a drummer that I liked personally and also could groove on music my brother and/or I wrote proved to be almost impossible.
You might want to go to musician's discussion here at UM. If you are in a metro area, check out some of the contact sports forums (but read them as opposed to spamming them.) I have met many many musicians on the Steelers (American football) forum, quite by accident I must say.

aw man! Your stories are confirming my suspicions about drummers.

and thanks for the metal update and the other forum resources.
good luck to you too.

drummers are toughest to find.. we've spend weeks finding one that was interested in heavy metal. honestly: they're very very scarce! Lots of nu-metal drummers, black, death.. when it comes to heavy, all I can say is:keep looking. Internet helps a lot, post on forums that you're looking for a drummer, advertising, etc. That's how we found one..

Funny. Many years ago a drummer friend and I planning on put an amateur band and the thing we couldn't find was a bass player

But drummers are hard to find. My friend Henry (v) is always having "headaches" regarding finding a good drummer for their sound. Now they have a steady one and it was the guitar player the one who dropped (luckily already replaced).

Leave us drummers alone! What ever you play, it all sucks!!

Oddly enough, I'm a drummer looking for the rest of a heavy or thrash metal band. Too bad I live in Australia.

I'm in a hard rock band at the moment that does a bit of local playing but hard rock isn't all that entertaining for a drummer (the bastards won't let me solo ALL the time.. lol)

I still enjoy my Hard Rock band (we've been playing for like 4 years and I'd hate to stop now) but I'd love to play either drums or lead guitar (my first love) in a Metal band as well. I don't see it happening any time soon though, *sigh* I feel your pain Sayer!

yeah, and we ain't getting any younger, I mean I am just 22, but I hear of many bands starting like at 18.

Maybe because of where I live drummers are dime a dozen. Never had a problem finding a drummer. Finding a singer on the other hand was always a problem. And IF by the grace of God we did find a good singer 9 times out of 10 he suffered from L.S.S.(Lead Singer Syndrome)

I have a pretty awesome vocalist, he is just more of a Southern Rock/Hard Rock kind of guy (though he loves Dio era Rainbow and early Dio.) We can't come to a happy medium, but he can't find a guitarist better that suits his style (when I play to his strengths) and I can't find a better vocalist. It also doesn't hurt the fact we can harmonize like an SOB considering we are brothers (half anyways.)
