Where would you place this mic on a drumkit?

Hey!

I just bought a used CAD M179, I still have to get used to it but it's a great mic! I want more of those to use as tom mics. I will record drums next month and as I only have one I'd like to choose the best possible placement. Yeah, I know depends on the source, room and stuff but this recording will have to be very quickly set up (not much time and it's at a studio) so opinions could make me waste less time. The room is far from ideal, it has a low ceiling and the sound is not great. The music is a kind of a slow, heavy hardcore if that makes sense. No fast drumming, blast beats or stuff like that. Here are the mics I will used and at the moment I think I will use the M179 as a room mic:

Kick in: E901
Kick out: E602
Sntop: PR30
Snbot: SM57
Toms: ATM450s (x2)
Hats: SM7
OH: C214s (x2)
Ride: MK012
China: MK012
Room1: Fatheads (x2)
Room2: 12Red (x2)
Mono room: M179

Another option would be above the drummer towards the snare to get an extra 'crack' but I'm afraid it will grab too much cymbals/hihats. Or in front of the kick at, say, 40-60cm... Thoughts?

Looks fine to me.
If you're feeling adventurous want something meatier (given the music style) you could swap the Fatheads and the C214.
Another thing you could do is put the SM7 as a snare bottom mic (That's always my first choice because it sounds great and get less bleed), put the M179 on the ride and the MK012 on the hat. The remaining 57 could be cool as dirty mono room or side snare or "fat mic"

Interesting... Never put an SM7 on bottom snare yet but I think I'll follow your suggestion this time. Yeah, the Fatheads are great as OH mics and that was my intention to give them a try for this recording and see what pair works better. M179 on the ride... why not.

Thanks man!
