METAL... nuff said!
MANTICORA WILL SLAY YOUR EARDRUMS AND BREAK YOUR NECKS.
There. I said it. You have all been warned.
And I echo Glenn's comments. The further back in their catalog, the more raw and brutally honest their sound gets. The first two albums have a very similar flavor with their riffs and tempos and vocal melodies. The latter two are extremely fast, well-polished production, lots of post-production and extra sounds and layers and thickness added to the compositions, and lotsa multitracked voicing. But between the two halves, you still have the same band. It's quite a jump between 2 and 3, but it makes sense when I read their band bio and how things have changed for them. Right now, I've been spinning the first two albums over and over for the last week. Next week, I'll put the last two back to back and just absorb them again. Right now, I need the old-school fix from them. Less layering, less sound effects, less keyboards, more raw metal riffage and wrist-snapping guitar playing. Next week, audio perfection, blistering speed and genius song composition.
