I'm looking for something a little more versatile then the studioEq in cubase.

I know there's quite a few. Any recommendations?

Eagerly awaiting this one here:

Especially if you're after versatility. But no idea of the release date :( ...

Otherwise idk, plenty of stuff out there.
(I like the new UA Api stuff(not so versatile), UA 1073 lately very much,UA Brainworx bx digital V2, Voxengo CurveEQ.)

I use Waves H-EQ. I think it's a fine all-around plugin, since you can actually choose which character you want it to have, on each band seperately. Don't think it's the best emulations of analog gear there is by a long shot - But for me, coming from having absolutely zero plugins with any character, it's pretty awesome.

I remember when it was like 75 bucks when it was introduced. I should have done that!

what is the benefit of EQuilibrium over EQuality?

EQuilibrium emulates classic eq curves and has all the features of EQuality. It also circuit models of vintage EQs, and has lots of engineering filters...

Edit:

I vote for EQuilibrium, if your CPU can handle... If not, go for EQuality.
The Metric Halo Channel Strip 3 is awesome too!
