I have a problem with cracks and all kinds of noise when i try to record with my new m-audio profire 2626. i suspect that the firewire chipset on my PC is the culprit, it's an asus P5K mainboard with a VIA firewire chip.

which pci firewire card should i get ?

easy enough, thanx :)
sucks that i can't enjoy my new toy right now... i want to record, damnit, no the only option is to go out and drink alot of beers

more specifically, yes something with a TI chipset, i would get a PCIe card rather than a PCI card, might as well if you got the x1 PCIe ports use em.

i got a SIIG PCI-e 2 port firewire 400 card, its one of the more expensive 2port FW400 cards(~$70), but ive bought 5 of them for various PCs all for audio/video and they all work flawlessly. dont get anything with combo usb or firewire 800, just a simple firewire 400 w/TI chipset is what you need.
