Which is the best pedal out of MT-2, HM-2 & HM-3? What are the differences?

I don't like distortion pedals anymore. But, this guy in town just did a "Diezel/Bogner" mod to a Metal Zone and he only wants $70 for it.

none of them are 'good' per se.
varying degrees of nasty.
the heavy metal is the most tolerable

the HM-2 is totally different then the metalzone.

HM-2 sounds like entombed, dismember, still a nasty sound...

Thanks dudes, I heard someone make the Mt-2 sound pretty sweet recorded direct with impulses and a bit of curve EQ.

I wondered if the older HM-2 pedal would be "better" because it's older and vintage stuff sometimes gets more praise than newer equipment!

Ok...thread is 5 years old but I'll bite just for the hell of it. HM-2 hands-down winner with a chainsaw to the brain. I've owned 2 in my lifetime and while it is a niche sound ftmp, it's a fun, evil thing to play with. I bought my latest one for 60 bucks (mainly since the sticker on the bottom is gone) but it's THAT sound for sure. Great to have in the arsenal.

Have a MetalZone here too. I got it because I found it for cheap and I read ATG used it on Slaughter of the Soul. Needless to say, it sounds terrible.

*EDIT* Whoops, old thread is old!
