Which metal album(s) are on your shit list

Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory. It's the only album I bought in the last two years that was a complete waste of my money. I gave it about ten listens, and it just sounded worse and worse each time, so eventually I gave up. . .

Trapped, I love Blackwater Fart!!!!!!!
Yeah Black album is poopy. It had some good "rock" songs on it but what happened to METALlica? Same deal with the Loads. You guys know that all those songs were written and recorded at the same time and it was going to be a double CD. I guess they just put more of the "good"(???) songs on the first one. Just a "rock" album...
As far as S&M goes Ktulu was cool and you can't ignore that.

iced earth- horror show

what an abomination of fucking noise.

and calling clayman gayman? shame on you all. that cd owns. sure its not their best, but its better than most other shit.

Slayer's new album is not that bad, much better than the last one. GHUA is still pissed off, and payback is a killer song. SOmebody listed the Ritual by Testament, despite its rather commercial nature, it still is great and has a great headbanging vibe.
My vote for worst metal album would be anything by Hammerfall, but on further evaluation i think Reload is the worst album I have ever heard, the moaning on The Memory remains, sounds like it was sung by Yoko Ono.

Diabolus owns GHUA. GHUA is the biggest load of BS I've ever listened to. Can I get through a song without a single F this or F that? What profound lyrics. The entire album is forced angst. They use the Point riff from Diabolus on nearly every song so it amazes me that you don't like Diabolus! Slayer still rules live, but if GHUA is any indication of what is to come...GOD HELP US RETIRE

I like GHUA as well as Diabolus. I just like Slayer, but I go through periods when I can't stand to listen to any of it. Now is one of those periods.

I also like Horror Show...it's NOT IE's best by far, but it's still a quality album. As far as In Flames goes, I can't get into them at all. I found Clayman boring. Granted, I've not heard all their stuff, but I keep giving them a chance and they keep disappointing. I'm going to go see them in Indy in April with IE and Jag Panzer so I'll be able to compare both. We'll see...perhaps after seeing In Flames live I'll give them another chance.

Neal: what do you consider In Flames best CD? Perhaps I'll check them out....again. :)

well i think many would agree that 'the jester race' is probably their best cd. its a lot faster than clayman and a bit more imaginative on the structures. i think i would probably rank them as:
1)jester race (3rd album)
2)colony (5th album)
3)whoracle (4th album)
4)clayman (6th album)
5)subteranian (2nd album)
6)lunarstrain (1st album)

personnaly i fucking love them all and the ranking is pretty close between colony whoracle and clayman. it changes depending on which one im listening to hehe. they also have a live album but that doesnt count.

I cant seem to get on with Six degrees of Inner Turbulance. Its not on my shit list but i will question whether to jump out and buy another future DT album straight the way.

Megadeth-RISK........very embarrissing to have this on such a good resume.

(....and Megadeth are more metal than half you guys that are there....remember how punk used to be offensive, now everybody is used to it.....but you don't hear anybody saying that the SEX PISTOLS aren't punk. Pay your respects, if megadeth, metallica and slayer never did exist, all of these new, not nu-metal, bands wouldn't even exist. And we'd all be home still listening to bubble gum music.)

Sometimes I think most of you guys believe that "you" are bigger than metal. Opinions are great to have but don't try to convert everybody into your ideals......maybe ministry would be up your alley. And I don't mean the band.

I have Colony, Jester Race, and a burned copy of Whoracle. I think Iike Colony best but I don't think I've given Whoracle or Jester Race a fair listen. I borrowed Lunar/Sub from a friend once and I thought those strange "folk-like" songs on them were cool. I also learned how to play Subterainian. Easy and cheesy yes but you kow you love it! :)

Just what the fuck are you talking about???!!! Horror Show is one of the meanest, one of the most true metal albums I've heard, as are many of Iced Earth's other albums, Burnt Offerings for example. And Clayman is on my shit list, because, well, there are good songs, a FEW, but that album won't ever match up with the likes of The Jester Race and Whoracle. It shames In Flames, maybe not totally, but doesn't really encourage me to buy the next album.

Queensryche's Q2K: Do I need to say more? Terrible crap.

Well, can't think of much more crap... gotta get back on this subject when I can... and for revenge I'm now going to play...

yeh i used to like iced earth. the first 3 cds are pretty decent, but the newest 3 are just a totaly different style thats not really my cup of tea. all bands change as the years go on, and i just dont like how they've changed at all. i do like the 'something wicked trillogy' but thats about it for the newest 3 cds. its funny that you like the new lighter better produced iced earth, but you dont like the new lighter better produced in flames. oh well, we all like different shit. and you better believe i'll get the new inflames.
