i have 2 roade nt5 i was thinking of gettin 2 more condenser mics for overheads or maybe get 2 mics to track the ride cymbal and the hi hat seperatly and leave the r0de for the rest of overheads...

eitehr that or getting 2 more and making 4 mics total on top of my drumset...

Keep the 2 Rode's where they are, and pick up a pencil condy or two for the ride/hat, or an LDC on the hats. Maybe even an LDC on the china(s) if you have enough channels/cash.

my nt5 are good for general overheads. everything comes out good with a little compression. very crisp and clean.

but i mean like i said i just wanna get a decent mic for a ride bell and hi hat this way i can position my nt5s a little different and have more flexibility to experiment
