Which Pickups should I buy

Spiders are not solid state, they are digital modeling amps, very different from pure analog solid state.
As me and many others have said, lay off buying new pickups until you get a new amp first.
Given the guitar is an Epi Les Paul 100, he may as well just buy a new guitar, because the poor quality of the wood is jut going to hold back what new pickups will be able to do.
You'd want at least a mid range guitar before you can really think about a pickup swap, no point putting them in a crap guitar.

Any modeling amp is just that, a digital modeling amp designed to emulate the sound and feel of tube amps.
Pure , proper solid state is stuff like Marshall MGs, Roland JC-120s etc, which are purely analogy and not attempting to sound like anything else, they sound exactly as their circuitry make them sound.
