Of the sixteen million billion compilations out there, is there one that covers the early stuff (before their MTV period) and has the far superior radio mix of Here I Go Again?

Erm... dunno. What's the radio mix of Here I Go Again? Cos it was also on the earlier Saints & Sinners but was rerecorded for 1987 with "drifter" replacing "hobo". I prefer that one.

What you should is buy 1987, Starkers in Tokyo and Live in the Heart of the City, and then get the In the Still of the Night DVD which just came out. That should set you up nicely. I don't care for many of the greatest hits albums I've just had a look at.

Yes I recall that I had a Tape - rock Hard with the Hobo reference on it rather than drifter ....I think u need to buy the orginal recording release what ever Album it was .... sorry I was no help at all ............

Now I've downloaded it (just for evaluation purposes mind), the 1987 album cut of HIGA isn't half bad. I thought it would be slow and maudlin all the way through like it is at the beginning, but the middle bit rocks along quite well.

The radio mix (which first appeared on the 1994 Greatest Hits thing) is different again, and pops up on Adelaide's version of Triple M every now and then.

Is In The Still Of The Night the new(ish) concert DVD that kicks off with Burn? I've heard many, many good things about that.
