idk bro engl's have a total different tone then any of your modded amps have. but i'm sure you can get it kinda close

Honestly, do it. Really do it. I want to hear this. None of your amps have the super wet saturation that ENGL's are famous for, modded or not. A new transformer isn't going to turn a 5150 or a Recto into an SE or Invader.

I own ENGL SE EL34 head myself, and i want that tone. I just think i won't be really good at miking and things so i want that ENGL SE tone recorded by a professional, who knows what he does, to achieve the best possible sound quality.

This is precisely why I hate Powerballs and love SE/Invaders.

My Blackmore was dryer than shit too, way too clean of a distortion for me, barely any saturation at all

It has an awesome clean channel, which is useful in metal about 3.2% of the time...

Powerball + 5150 = Verry nice! I like!

i agree! i recorded my last bands full length with a 5150/powerball setup
