Who inspired you to play the instrument u play?

Seeing Angus Young.....on an ACDC video special back in 87...then it was CC Deville from Poison. I have long since renounced these guys playing abilities...but they were the first inspiration and cannot be denied.

Two of my friends started playing guitar about 2 1/2 years ago so i just told my mom i wanted one for my bday. For the first year i just played crap that was on the radio, didnt even know who any guitarists were other than hendrix (how the hell was i supposed to know who the guitarist for 3 doors down was, i dont think ive ever even seen a picture of the band). Then while going through my numetal stage i accidentally discovered pantera and dimebags playing blew me away (all i had heard so far was popular music). Then i started listening to other metal and realized how much i sucked at guitar and needed to get better. Now i like laiho, petrucci, romeo, srv, gilbert, vai, satriani, olbrich, friedman and mustaine mainly.

hehe its funny to think back.. actually the 2 guitarists from Slayer are who influenced me the most in the beginning... then I went through an eddie van halen phase... then I moved on to shred type of stuff... Now I just take in all guitarists like a vortex... Romeo is my favorite for sure at this point in time.

I've been playing piano since I was 7, and to be honest no-one inspired me. As a kid I was always playing piano and I really liked it so I began taking lessons. I'm playing guitar for 2 years now, and I play stuff like Opeth, Metallica, The Eagles, DT etc. No Symphony X yet, too difficult

Two words: Jimmy Page.

I heard Led Zep's "Black Dog" and thought, "I want a guitar. Quickly." That was almost 7 years ago, and they're still one of my favorite bands and biggest influences.

My sister left the house, and her guitar stayed here.
So I took the guitar and started playing it.
After a while I took lessons.

You're supposed to say that you can play any and all Symphony X stuff and that Romeo's stuff is pretty simple.

Yeah, but you forgot the part where you have to say you can also 'nail' all of Rusty Cooley and Michael Angelo's stuff too, but they are 'giving you a hard time'.
