He is indeed. I used to call his Apple-based BBS when he had it running out of his house in Verona, NJ. This was well before the Web was big; in fact, he registered mtv.com and used it as a domain long before the cirporate suits had a clue it would be valuable.
He was always a metalhead and I'll never forget the gleam in his eye when he announced "By the way, you Queensryche fans, "Eyes of a Stranger" didn't quite make the countdown tonight, but it was really close. Keep up the good work." As one of the fans who was calling in every day for it, I was pleased. The following day, it placed on the countdown.

Hell, anyone who quit his job at MTV in disgust because they were playing stupid longer-form shows instead of music videos is cool in my book. It's a shame his resignation 'speech' never made it to the airwaves.
