Heres a batch of Brit acts we keep getting bugged about:

Powerquest
Dragonforce
Shadow Keep (played B01)
Angelwitch
Witchfynde
Tygers of Pan Tang
Demon
Magnum
Bob Catley - solo
Paul Di'Anno
Paradise Lost

Similarly - anyone any objections to the likes of Kick, Lukan, Lost Weekend .................

Where could / would any of these fit on the bill - Please post constructive comments! Note: In no way are any of these confirmed to appear and thanks for your help!!

Vince

Just my humble opinions!

Powerquest - New album out soon, And seem to be picking up more fans and support all the time. Definitely deserve a chance and I'm sure they'd do a good job. I'd love to see them at 03.

Dragonforce - In some respects similar to Powerquest and probably a bit better known in the UK. It would be a nice to see them on the same bill as Powerquest.

Shadow Keep - Did a splendid job at Bloodstock 01, but I believe that they've lost their singer.

Angelwitch - I thought these guys disbanded and that their bass player was now the Tyger's new ginger!?

Witchfynde - I've not heard of them in years but I'm sure they'd probably attract a few old school rockers.

Tygers of Pan Tang - I saw these live earlier in the year and they did a good job, could fill the 'Diamond Head' role of 02 or the 'Dirty Deeds' role 01.

Demon - I've not heard of them in years but they still appear to be reasonable popular and keep popping up in various posts.

Magnum - No doubt that either Magnum or Bob Catley solo, would do a fine live performance. My only concern is would they be heavy enough and can they be classed as Metal? It would be a bit like Glenn Hughes at 01 and although he did a good job the place was half empty. From a personal perspective I'd watch them but would others?

Paul Di'Anno - I never seen Di'anno live and I've heard mixed reports, however I think a lot of people would turn up just to see him perform some Maiden classics! Maybe he'd be an ideal second stage headliner!?

Paradise Lost - Not my cup of tea at all to be honest (No disrespect to the band or their fans intended) I don't really know enough about them to pass comment - sorry!

Kick, Lukan, Lost Weekend - Although there's no doubting any of these band's abilities, I think they're to AOR to be playing at a Metalfest. I think Magnum, Tygers or Praying Mantis (Only due to the fact that these bands have more history) would possibly go down better if 03 is going to include a lighter band.

I think Eagle has more or less summed up my opinions there Vince. The bands I would most like to see are Power Quest and Dragonforce. I think they would work better on separate days..one on the Friday..one on the Saturday.

Guess I'd better comment on Paradise Lost then :)

Definitely be good. They've got a new album out this
month some time. Some will moan about how they're
not metal anymore but I still enjoyed the last show of
theirs I saw. Even have the photos of me on crutches
after it to prove it!!

Of the other bands I wouldn't be much gone on any of them
except Powerquest and Dragonforce. Oh and don't forget
about Lost Horizon either :)

Angelwitch have reformed again as a result of the recent passing of Paul Samson.

The bassist is Richie Wicks erstwhile singer for both Tygers, and the new vox in Shadow Keep.

Angelwitch are to release an EP next year in line with Euro festival appearances.

Powerquest -- Yep, probably taking the "Freedom Call/Primal fear" slot from previous years, or maybe one of the Friday bands.

Dragonforce -- Definitely. Penultimate main stage band on Saturday, perhaps. Assuming they have enough material by then to do a full length set, that is.

Shadow Keep (played B01) -- Nope. Wasn't impressed either by the debut album, or by their performance at B01. That said, Richie on vocals could make a huge difference, as that was their one big weakness

Angelwitch -- Depends on if Richie has left, or is just playing in multiple bands these days. Kevin's vocals suck as ever, but they put on a great live show, and Richie was the mainstay, IMHO.

Witchfynde -- No idea.

Tygers of Pan Tang -- A bit lightweight for my tastes.

Demon -- No opinion.

Magnum -- Yes please. Friday headliners?

Bob Catley - solo -- Only if you can't get Magnum. His solo shows are actually pretty good, but I think Magnum would be better Bloodstock material.

Paul Di'Anno -- Yes. He may have deteriorated into a bit of an aging rock star parody of late, and his voice isn't what it used to be, but he can still put on a decent show (I saw him with a maiden tribute band, of all things!). He should probably be early on the Saturday, in the hopes of catching him before he's too pissed...

Paradise Lost -- No opinion.

Kick -- Dull when supporting Thunder, but I guess they'd be OK.

Lukan, Lost Weekend -- Dunno what they sound like.

Yep, I have to second that, as well as make a plea once more for Borknagar. I know that bringing non-UK bands to Bloodstock probably costs more, and hence there can only be a few each year, but please include Lost Horizon and Borknagar (who have just had to cancel their European tour due to financial problems, and who I'm sure would love to be given the chance to play :)

I would like to see a little death metal too. Wether it be melodic like children of bodom, rotting christ.. or mortician, hypocrisy!

Hypocrisy would be great. They completely slayed
at Wacken this year - the only band to be allowed
play a second encore.

But I'd better mention Lost Horizon again just to
keep up the preasure :) Anyone heard any of
their new album yet??

Lost Horizon would be awesome! Also would anyone else like to see Full Strike, Valley's Eve, Angel Dust or Sonata Arctica on the bill?

Also I agree with William in that I think we do some Death Bands on the bill too, thus catering for all tastes!

Well most tastes! I definitely don't want to see any 'nu' or 'punk' shite at such a respectable event!

I dont know lost horizon i dont think, i like sonata arctica, angel dust and what ive heard of full strike though.
Btw too rite about nu metal and punk :-D

Dunno about the first two. Definitely to Angel Dust. After three stunning albums in succession, I think they'd make great Bloodstock material. Unsure about Sonata Arctica. I really like the band, but when I saw them in Germany, they were really pretty poor live. Some of that was down to the awful sound quality of the venue, but I don't know how much. Still, I guess they deserve at least another chance.
