Who the better guitarist,Doug or Graham?

I rememeber being gutted when Graham left as he was the first member of Saxon I met and was/is a great guitarist.
But Dougie more than adequately fills his shoes. Top guitarist who fits into the band really well and obviously loves being in the band. Dougie

Thats a tough one being that I've never seen Doug perform and only ever seeing Graham who I feel is a adept guitarist in his own right.

However, judging by the latest albums I would say that Doug is a more than a adequate replacement for Graham.

Doug gets my vote

SEE I FIND THAT DIFFICULT BECAUSE:
1 NOT HERD ENOUGH NEW SAXON STUFF TO MAKE JUDGEMENT(DAY).
2 NEVER THOUGHT GRAHAM WAS THAT GOOD. RIFFS THE BEST IN METAL SOLOS DULL MOSTLY BUT WHEN HE SHINED HE WAS FUCKING TOPS

Graham, because Doug just wouldnt be able to get away with the moustache like he did, also, Doug seems to favour a tuned down style on some songs live which I detest, you wouldnt catch Graham 'how many guitars have I burnt and destroyed?' Oliver doing any of that. Also, Dallas 1pm solo by Oly is still one of the best solos going (but not quite as good as Pauls on Militia Guard)

It sounds to me like Doug handles the lion's share of the solos on the last few releases, and he does it rather well.

Aside from his love of the "whammy-bar flutter" I think he's great and Saxon may be better off without Graham...

Am I the only one who thinks Paul ran circles around him anyway(especially on the "Greatest Hits Live" video & CD)?

difficult question!

I do not want to talk about good-better-best. I only can say that they differ from eachother. Some guitar solos of Graham Oliver give me a better feeling than the solos of Scarrat. And the other way around it's also that the Scarrat solos give me a better feeling than the ones of Graham Oliver.
Maybe it is nice to know which solo you prefer the most, when you compare Oliver with Scarret. But of course I am very happy with Doug Scarret. For example Terminal Velocity that gives me chicken skin(= such a good feeling that gives to me) but there is no way you can compare that song because Graham never did that song. But when I compare heavymetalthunder on the Strong Arm album, Graham Oliver solo gives me abetter feeling than the same solo on HMT. But I know that other people do not agree with me.
Hey: "never mind, good friends anyway. It is Saxon anyway!
