I partially agree, but you gotta understand, it's mostly an act, just like Marilyn Manson isn't really some... whatever he pretends to be.
I often find myself agreeing with people when they say she just makes pre-chewed commercial electro-pop, but every time I hear one of her tracks, I have to admit that in some parts, the vocal lines are pretty brilliant. And seeing as how she writes her songs herself, I daresay she's more accomplished than 90% of the singers out there, who just sing tracks written by professional songwriters and can't even do that without overheating the auto-tune.

Justifying it by saying it's an act is a cop out, I think. It's utterly bankrupt regardless of whether it's a show or not. In fact, the notion that it works because it is a show is even worse.

She is not a social degenerate, she has talent. Unlike most pop stars. The bitch can SING. As good as Warrel even. Her beats sound awesome. She blew up via the New York club scenes without help from radio or MTV. What is the problem here?
To be honest her singing really isn't that special so I have no idea what the fuck you're on about saying she's as good as Warrell. But I will commend her on the fact that she's not just another record label manufactured pop star, she started out as a songwriter and so actually writes all of her music herself. Which immediately propels here to a level above pretty much every other popular artist today.

I simply dislike this woman and everything she stands for. Well, I'm not taking her too seriously, that's not what upsets me exactly, it's the fact that this is what passes for art in Western Culture, when really she's just a stuck up bitch with a modicum of talent fooling the idiot masses into thinking she's not only interesting but somehow vitally important. She's neither.
You could draw a parallel with her and countless other "artists" who have some talent, but she's hardly some individual out there pumping essential music out into the airwaves - she's managed, styled and presented as alternative, when actually she's just a whore. A shill. A whore. A bitch.
I hope the next red carpet she's on swallows her whole and transports her to Charlie's Chocolate Factory except everyone is on fucking acid and drilling holes into each others knees and sucking chocolate out of the holes.
Oh and Gene Wilder Charlie, not Johnny Depp. Wilder had a whole other dimension of malevolence to him that Depp couldn't muster. Wilder on acid would dip is balls in chilli chocolate and sodomise her with an Oompa Loompa strapped to his back.
That's all she deserves, in my opinion.
