I voted Hetfield because:

a) he downpicks like a motherfucker.
b) he plays as well as he does with a ridiculously low slung guitar.
c) his finger tone and muting on justice and the black album win over everything.
d) he manages to sing as well playing all those syncopated riffs.
e) he has written a large portion of the best metal riffs ever written.
