who's got ash on their face?

I want to see my mom today and ask her how her cult is doing.

Also - it is wrong that politeness includes the assumption that all people should know what Ash Wednesday is, however there are plenty of other religious customs where people are all POUR QUOI and it's not considered as impolite.

:(

i totally never knew this went on until like 3 yrs ago on the train going downtown. saw this one lady and then saw like tons of ppl on the streets and was like WTFISTHIS? and figured it out the next day or something. can't believe it took me like 25 yrs to notice that.

btw, i saw like 1 more guy at work with ash. and my work has literally hundreds of people.

seeing a 40something conservative-looking businesswoman type with a huge, ashen inverted cross on her forehead. I kind of squinted and looked at her like this :zombie: when I first saw her. I don't think she realized that she looked like someone who should be a character in The Omen.

i usually go, but this year since i was out of work i couldn't go to church on the way home like i otherwise would. so i'm ash-free.

i also ate meat today! i had some steak that was on the cusp of spoilage and it couldn't go another day, so i chowed it and i guess i'll do the no-meat thing for the next two days.
