Why a Mac is really the only option. Can your PC do this?

I prefer to just use Gedit. I can't see a reason to use vim or emacs..

Besides speed issues, it's handy to know a CLI text editor so when you fuck up your system, and you will, and you can't boot into a GUI... you can fix what you need quickly run RL3.
