Why are people's avatars steadily getting bigger?

They must have changed the limits, because I had to have my image resized before I could use it...

they changed the size to 100*100, and of course the newer users made their avatars based on these new restrictions, while the old ones were kept in 80*80 or whatever.

Wasn't Mark saying before that the new avatar restrictions are either 100x100 OR < 5Kb I think..
