Why did Death have constant line up changes?

Demiurge and Falco told me that Chuck was an asshole because he ditched his bandmates on tour one time.

Yeah he ditched the whole Spiritual Healing line up while touring for the album, they actually ended up playing shows without him if memory serves.

I read an interview with Sean Reinert where he said that the tumor growing in Chuck's head most likely had something to do with his behaviour but no-one realised it at the time.

Lol. Fuck i hate Dave Mustaine, what a pussy! Every interview i have ever seen with him, he mentions metallica within the first couple of paragraphs. He needs to grow some nuts and get over it.. plus seeing him cry just made me sick.

Btw, in reality, i think chuck deserved the right to kick out whoever he wanted whenever he wanted. Anyone who writes music like he did should be worshipped!

Shut the fuck up you inconceivably stupid cunt.
Quote of the day and i've only been on here 5 minutes.

Didn't he kick the spiritual healing lineup cause they just weren't that good? Didn't Chuck play the bass on Leprosy because Terry Butler couldn't? Though AFAIK they both played their own parts on Spiritual Healing (which I might add is a KILLER album, i think Chuck really started showing what he was capable of on there, plus adding James Murphy to play lead with him certainly wouldn't have hurt things)

This seems about right. I saw an interview with Richard Christy and he had nothing but good things to say about Chuck.

Didn't Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert end up doing the Spiritual Healing tour, or at least part of it? I think I remember reading an interview with PM where he said he missed his high school grad in order to tour Mexico and stuff with Death.

Death may have a lot of line-up changes, but it seems that none of the guys who were in and out of Death had anything negative to say about their experiences, or about Chuck himself.

Pretty sure Terry Butler and Bill Andrews had plenty of bad shit to say about him at the time they were dumped. Maybe they've lightened their tone now that he's dead.

According the wikipedia, Chuck canceled the tour at the last minute as he wasn't happy with the way it was organized. As band leader I think he has the right to make that decision; so I don't think it's fair to say that he ditched the band, it's more like the band tried to go ahead without his permission. I think the lineup changes wasn't because nobody got along with Chuck; it's more because Chuck wanted to use only session musicians in an attempt to constantly change and evolve his sound. And that method certainly worked.
