Why did Rullo leave?

That makes sense. I was never sure myself as all I've read has said something about "personal issues". Great that we got him back anyway. Thomas Walling was decent on TIO, but I prefer Jason's drumwork...

By the way, funny how all the ex-Symphony X members are totally unknown these days.

Oh I thought it was just from Rullo being busy with something else and temporarily losing interest in the band. I didn't know he wasn't getting along with Miller. Where did you hear that?

Yeah, but I still didn't quite get your response.

''By the way, funny how all the ex-Symphony X members are totally unknown these days.''

My post was in response to this. He's saying how old members are mostly unknow to people and I said that's probably due to the fact that most people that frequent the forum these days are newcomers.

Oh, ok. Well Thomas isn't unknown to ME. I've been a fan of his playing ever since I first heard SX. One thing I wonder about...I haven't yet heard the first two albums. Rod Tyler sang on the first one I know. Was he any good? I know he was fired, but not because of his singing. He had a falling out with the others it says.

@ultimate Symphony: Actually, I didn't mean that no-one on the forums knows the members, but that nobody knows the ex members are doing now. I mean that they are totally unknown cause none of them have apparently done anything notable atleast in terms of music... (Since they left Symph X)

^ And about Tyler... I don't know if you're a fan of that kind of singing, but it's very different from how Russell sings... And yeah, I think EVERYONE agrees that he wasn't as good, but check it for yourself.

I thought Rod quit? As far as I know there have never been any bad feelings towards the band and Rod. After all, Rod did introduce them to Russ...

Also, Thomas Miller attended one of the shows in NJ that Symphony X recently played, so I assume there's no bad vibes between him and the band, either.

I know what you meant, I was only giving my opinion on why they weren't that know around here.

He quit the band If I remember well and he pretty much sucked, so no harm done.

The booklet, and one of the special edition videos I saw, Romeo and Allen talked about Rod Tyler. For starters he has a very shy stage presence apparently, he didn't/couldn't do live shows for wtv reason. So the band would not have made it very far with Rod Tyler for that reason, and he personally knew this and actually introduced the band to Russ. And I shit you not, he said something along the lines of "I can't do this anymore guys, but I know this singer, who aint quite as good as me, but really good none the less." And thats how it went down, there where no hard feelings with Rod. I don't think he is a bad singer, I just don't think symphony x is his fortee. But Russell Allen is god, f'ing golden trade off. Be like trading some nobuddy for Jorn, can't get any better than that.

I don't know the entire story, or who it envolved, but officially Rullo stated he was "having some troubles with the band" He didn't point out any members in particular. But the fact he is there and happy now, I would assume it was with Miller. Either that or they worked out there indifferinces.
