Being a bassist myself, I loved Miller's playing. But Lepond is an absolute powerhouse and I love his playing too so it's win win for me. Does anyone know for sure whether Miller is doing anything musically at all? It's a hell of a waste of talent if he isn't....
Wow, you're not kidding! He sounds like the late Kevin DuBrow! Thanks for posting that. And about Tyler... I don't know if you're a fan of that kind of singing, but it's very different from how Russell sings... And yeah, I think EVERYONE agrees that he wasn't as good, but check it for yourself.
I couldn't agree more. Miller was a good songwriter in addition to a top player. It makes someone like him difficult to replace. It says a lot about Lepond as a player, that he was able to step in and replace him.Thomas Miller deserves more praised.... This guy was a blinding virtuoso, he made the bass sound like cello! And he contributed to the songwriting a lot. He wrote the lyrics to Candlelight Fantasia. I rest my case.
All i have to say about this whole thing is
Without Russell, Mike L, and Jason the bands isnt as good.
the way Russell sings over MJR's riffs is amazing, the way Jason and Laponde play together is magic. Their best stuff is with this line up hands down.
