I stopped posting for a while because there seems to be a 'blink and miss it' quality to the forum where if you disappear for a while and come back, everythings moved on and it can be difficult to break back into the group. This isn't intended as criticism, just a statement.

i don't think is that difficult to break back into the group. all you have to do is to creep into some senseless discussions and post senseless things. at least it worked for me (or so i think).

of course the forum activity goes down if the band itself is inactive to the outside world. and, at least for me as one of the frequent posters, nearly all longer non-gossip-threads already contain my 2cents. so all i can do right now is state what i listen to and what i eat i already try to bring up other topics (like the programmer's thread), but this example shows again that everyone who's interested as posted there once or twice, it vanishes again. that's not bad a thing, quite normal i'd say, but that is how people are running out of things to say. topics are harder to find, especially those which everyone may be interested in. and if some newbie stumbles into the forum, and asks for everyone's opinion on damage done, i won't discuss that for the tenth time...
i guess the right recipie would be a greater fluctuation of people. if you don't "see" each other some time, there's more to discuss. and on the other hand new blood brings fresh ideas.

i don't know if you said this in jest, but i think it holds some truth. most of the regulars around are surely very calm and peaceful ppl who enjoy a smooth ride.
i second all both you and vc have said: people, just post away on any topic you like, then stop when you've got nothing more to say. and if you're eating grapefruit, i'm sure there are subtle ways of letting us know, aside from the huge thread about it.
