Wich preamp ?

I'll start recording my band next weekend and I can't decide the preamp i'll use.

I can use the build in preamp on my m-audio fast track ultra 8R
or
the preamp on our mixer "soundcraft M12" ?

Anybody have clue on wich should be the best ?

If the fast track ultra is anything like the profire 2626, the preamps are always engaged, might wanna take that into account

i really dont mind the octane preamps in my 8R, of course there is always better. but for the price. i like em
