so i borrowed my friend's "Metal For the Masses Vol. 2" CM sampler cd (frickin incredible btw, mp3 cd with more than 150 tracks), and they included a few sentenced tracks...

Now heres the thing
Two of the tracks sounded like the Sentenced that i had heard before, sort of like a less Proggy and technical evergrey...

While the other track sounded completely different, like an Emperor-esque Black metal band...

Are there two bands named Sentenced signed to CM? or is it just some freak change in the bands sound?

Sentenced changed their style. I mean 180 degrees. In fact, they used to be classified as death metal.

Now, they are.....they aren't for me.

It's probably the same band.

It's true. You can catch the progression. North From Here and earlier stuff was blackish death metal. Then came Amok which was a melodic deathish metal. Then Down which was dark, melodic metal and I pretty much stopped listening to them after that.

The only Sentenced I've heard is Cold White Light... and I like it.

i really like that one too, but i think its a lot better than the few that are before it
