The thunder and lightning brewing on the horizon is no mere spring storm, it’s the imminent arrival of the Wings Of Steel Tour 2011, which pairs ANGELS OF BABYLON with SEVENTH CALLING.

"Intent on delivering an awesome mix of face-melting brutality and classic metal, it’s certain to go down as one of the most memorable tours of the year," according to a press release.

A mix of power, melody and hooks that will stand the test of time, headliners Angels Of Babylon feature Rhino, the drummer who forged his reputation performing with MANOWAR and HOLYHELL, celebrated voice Michael Yancy, emerging guitarist Ethan Brosh and bassist Steve Handel, who will do double duty throughout the tour.

Handel is the also the lead singer/guitarist for Las Vegas favorites Seventh Calling, who also feature drummer Mark Dompier and bassist Michael Poplees.

Joining this amazing tour for its East Coast leg are acclaimed New York City progressive thrash kings MARTYRD, who're currently putting the finishing touches on the follow up to their self-titled debut.

Hmm. Have not heard Angels of Babylon before, but if I like what I hear, I might go to this show. It's on a Friday in Kansas City, and could be a good time.

I enjoyed Seventh Calling when they came through with Widow last year.

Why are half musicians who recorded the Angels Of Babylon debut CD (which I like a lot) now gone? Exit David Fefolt (vox) and Dave Ellefson (bass)? This must change the band sound quite a bit...

Who is Michael Yancy? What type of voice does he have? Did he recorded with other bands before?

I actually just got an email a few minutes ago about all of this and why Dave Fefolt is not there. I was looking forward to seeing him myself (big fan of his work). But I was assured that Yancy sounds very similar to Dave. And I believe on the album Rhino actually recorded the vocals not Dave.
By the way thew Hawk album is one of the best 80s metal albums that no one has ever heard.

Ancient Creation will be play with them in KC. And I do recommend the new album it kicks ass, not that I'm bias.

Sold. I do like what I've heard since you've added them to your roster. I def. wanna support the KC scene while I live here in Missouri. It'll be good to see those guys do their thing. :kickass:

I think you'd be surprised how many people have heard that Hawk album. Anybody who played rock/metal guitar in the 80's, and bought guitar magazines probably knew of Doug Marks and heard the Hawk stuff. Solid album, but nothing too spectacular. I did like Fefolt a lot on that album, though.

What? Fefolt did not sing on the album? What the hell is that? The vocals sound really like him if he didn't record them...

I do have that Hawk disc myself, and it rules.

I don't completely understand that but ok...
And I have a few good things on my roster they just don't tend to be the hip things to be into I guess.

You've been pimping Ancient Creation since you announced you were releasing their new album. I didn't know about the band, so I checked out their song samples, and I really liked what I heard. AND it turns out they're from close to me. So I've been wanting to see them at a local show, which hasn't come up yet.

But now it has, and I'm excited to see them.

And I'll likely only live in Missouri for a year or so more. I'm a tv weatherman, so I think I'll be moving somewhere else once my contract is up. Thus, my statement that I want to support the KC scene while I live here.

I'm well aware of Doug and Metal Method from the 80s, I just never hear or see much mentioned about that album.
As for the Angels of Babylon vocals I was told that actually Rhino sang all of it. I don't know myself I was just told that by someone in the band (damnit was that name dropping? ) I actually have not heard the album or read the liners.

I don't want to kill your "name dropping" line but if indeed you really do know someone in the band they are lying to you. Rhino sang duet on two of the songs and the rest are pure Fefolt. Oh and Yancy sounds nothing like Fefolt, how do I know??? I'm Fefolt.

Hi David,

Nice to see you on the forum. Did you leave Angels Of Babylon? What's the reason? Cause I like the album a lot, and one of the main reasons is your voice. There were rumors you were now singing with Fifth Angel? Is it true?

\m/

I was not saying I thought he sounded like you, that was an option given to me. I have never heard him. And I dropped no name, I was only told that Rhino did the vocals. Never said I knew that for sure, hell I have not heard the album yet.
The only thing that made me want to hear it was you being on it. My only interest in seeing the band live was you on vocals.
I mentioned that I like the Hawk album, also have the Forgotten Realms release and really like Valhalla, so obviously a fan. And interested in this Fifth Angel, I'm usually iffy when vocalist are changed up in bands like Fifth Angel.
So why are you not doing the tour?
