wiring tips for a LP copy

hi guys, 1st off let me say that i DID try a google search before writing here, but i didn't found what i was looking for...
this said, here's my problem: i'm trying to rewire a friend's cheap LP copy whose HB come with two leads (red and white) and a ground.
now, i know that i have to solder the ground to the volume pot's surface and in the one lead-ed pu's situation the lead goes to the same pin where the capacitor is soldered, but what do i do with this other lead? do i solder it to the ground or to the pin where i soldered the cable coming from the switch or do i join the two leads or what else????
