Once in a while a new band comes around and immediately blows you away. I experienced this on my first listen of Divine In Sight nearly 4 years ago and my fondness for their music has only grown over that time.
Divine In Sight is a progressive rock trio reminiscent of early Rush, Queen and Yes among other artists. With all of these influences, the band definitely does have a sound all their own though. Amazing musicianship abound from the group on both their 1999 demo and latest release Sorrow & Promise. Bart Bogges (lead vocalist/guitarist) voice bears a striking resemblance to Geddy Lee that is uncanny. They have a great rhythm section as well fronted by the superb bass playing of Jonathan Dexter.
If you are in the vicinity of Oshkosh, Wisconsin this Saturday evening, I highly recommend checking these guys out in concert. Venue information and MP3s can be found at their site below.
