Within The Ruins-"Tractor Pull" Cover (Podfarm, S2.0, Legion)

I was bored so I decided to record a cover :)

Mix 1:

Guitars: 6505 model in Pod Farm going into the Engl, Bogner and Mesa Redwirez IRs.
The Legion tracks are fed into the same impulses

Bass: Chimp Spanner's "Grind Bass" patch

Drums: Avatar kit for everything except the splash cymbal.

There are still a few level adjustments that need to be made (and my REALLY GOOD dive bombs), so barring that, let me know what you guys think. I'm always open to suggestions, comments and critiques!

You've got some serious skills to play a Within the Ruins song on guitar! =D

Is the whole kit just Avatar? The cymbals/kick are screaming it and could use some creative humanizing (for cymbals), but other than that it's great!

Thanks guys! :)

The whole kit is in fact Avatar. The only X-drum I used was the Splash. I'm kinda lazy when it comes to humanizing :p I usually only do the toms and kick.

I'll post the DIs and MIDI tomorrow! :)
I'm also gonna try and lay down some vocals soon-ish

Now you can all see how bad I am at guitar haha :p

As for bass processing, it was just Chimp Spanner's "Grind Bass" Pod Patch, high/low pass, with a boost around 3-4kHz, and some Multiband compression on the low mids. Also, the "bass" is just pitch shifted guitar lol. I don't own a bass yet.

Edit: I'll start doing vocals on Monday. If anyone else is interested, go for it!
 
Worked on it for two hours this morning, I like it somewhat.
There is still a lot of work to be done and its kinda half-assed, but thats how far I got it.
The song is great, reminds me that I should listen to WTH more often.

I like the guitars (espcially during the breaks) and I like my kick.
I'm unhappy with the snare and in particular the base.

I'd love to have vocals for this one :D

I'll have to get back to you on that, though I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I used the stock Avatar kick and the 13' Piccolo snare.

I'm diggin the guitar tone you got here! What did you use?
Also, sorry about the "bass" :p There's a reason it's so low in my mix haha.

Like I said I'll start vocals on Monday, and try to finish them up by Wednesday!
