World debut of Amaranthe's brand-new video for Amaranthine

And remember, people said the same thing about the "Hunger" video, in which all she does is stand there and sway her hips a bit. I lost a little faith in humanity when I saw that.

I mean, for example, someone posted an album cover by some band a few weeks ago with two chicks that looked like they walked out of an 80's porno.

For the love of God, don't summon it. Please. :waah:

It was some French power metal band. OH! Heavenly. It was just super cheesy looking. I thought it was a parody/fun band like Steel Panther but apparently they are "serious".

edit: a google search confirms Elize from Amaranthe was originally a Cabaret dancer (via interview). So there.

I don't recall anyone saying she looked slutty when she came out before "Nights of Arabia" for the pseudo-belly dancer part when she was at PP with Kamelot, and that was both with less clothing and more provocative movement than either of the Amaranthe videos. This whole argument just seems incredibly absurd...

She is gorgeous to me...I'm not going to deny that, but I also love her voice because she could sing the phone book and it would sound great to me.Having a beautiful voice with someone that fine is just the cherry on the cake!!!!

I can't take anything you say seriously when you just called something that Geoff Tate's crotch has been heavily involved in 'tasteful' :loco::loco:

I had no reason to post in this thread until now.

I kinda figured this was going to be a divisive one (I will admit to having reacted with some measure of revulsion on Friday when the band was announced) But there is some serious weapons-grade bitching in this thread.

It's really all about variety...the genre and fest....and that is it....never get the bitching past "not my thing", as we all have those.

These guys have some cross over appeal that might just do the genre well in terms of attracting new listeners.
Another time & era, I could see them doing quite well on the US radio scene.....a poppy/metal combo that works quite nicely.
Is this album something I can see myself listening to years from now?...probably not, more of an "in the moment" type listen as opposed to something that engages my ear & mind over the long haul....and that is not a bad thing as those long haulers are few and far between.

I like them and believe they will put on quite a good show....of which I am looking forward to it.

Can't stop listening to this album. The growley vocals mixed with the female vocals caught me while I was getting absorbed into those catchy, yet unique melodies. Keeps yanking me in different directions. LIKE THAT. Not same-ole-same-ole. Can't quite figure it out or label it, so I love it. The neggy nannies can go back to listening to whatever they want. This is really grabbing me. Maybe I'll sponsor them. ;)

I was lucky enough to hang out with Jake and Elize after the Kamelot set year before last. There is nothing airbrushed or make-up'd about her - she is honestly that pretty. She can SPEAK the phonebook - her voice is that great. And her stage presence is just her awesome personality, she is kind and quick-witted, simultaneously.

What I said about Elize, goes for Jake as well, he is a showman whether in front of 5,000 or 5. Thanks to him I had a headstart on even knowing about Amaranthe, so Glenn's announcement was very exciting for me.

My son (my ultimate barometer of good music) likes to listen to them... when he is not requesting Sabaton or anything with Chity singing...
