I heard those are very weak structurally. I even heard that once a samurai(or ninja, can't remember, and don't care) cut a few logs from it and was able to hinder the advance of a battalion in his pursuit.

Ha, they might have been able to do so, but I sure can sure as hell imagine a ninja jumping around in the woods back there.
