Well, i'm not sure exactly how it is written, but in our country we call them raiders - a set of technical and other requirements gig organizators should follow so a band could perform a gig...

Trying to write one for my band. Maybe someone of you could send me one as en example to read and have better understanding/inspiration? I don't need a raider of stars, just normal metal band :)

Thank you

Well the rider factor's in EVERYTHING to accomodate the show, and with some of the bigger bands they have a shitload of crew and other personnel that accompany them on the road , and the rider will accommodate them as well. Plus you figure the band is there all day so there going to need to eat at least three meals plus in between and you figure Metallica and there 85 man crew plus other people there eatin all day thats a shit ton of food. Plus the band will include stupid shit (eg. no brown M and M's) To make certain that there demands are met, cause if they did the stupid little things, chances are good they did everything else well too. But yea I agree some shit is plain outrageous. And Lars WILL cry if there's no bacon.

Yeah, laughed my ass off at the bolded BACON MUST BE AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES hilights :D

Shit, I wish I was in such a position I could actually demand bacon.

Thats what you get with a Dane in the band. I know a band who request a framed photo of Osama Bin Laden in their dressing room.

:cry:why!?????!?!??????????????

don't think you can get away with telling us something like that and expect us not to be curious as to why the fuck they would do that?!??? if you don't know why please find out, wouldnt you wanna know yourself, and if you don't mind which band is this ? lol

i'm not offended but i am completely confused ... i can only imagine a select few in this world praising bin laden so why would anyone need a framed portrait of him, come to think of it, it sounds like a funny idea, i may even get one just for shock value cus that shit shocked me

ps

for anyone interested, my rider is as follows. .

hookers, beer and crack. period.

In Dave Lee Roth's book he says how how the M&M story got into the press...

On Van Halen's rider, it had all the technical requirements, and one was something like "the weight of the show is "X" tonnes, the venue must be able to support this" among this and all the other boring stuff, they put in the line about M&Ms.
Some University in the US booked VH to play in their new basketball arena, and the venue hadn't bothered to read the list of essential requirements, consequently the weight of the stage caused the floor to collapse. It then got reported in the press that Van Halen smashed up the venue because of a rogue M&M of the wrong colour :D
