Wow...Pro Mastering FTW!! (+ comparison clips)

I use spectre and turtle tone for the bands I record, never ever master myself unless they just want it as demos (whic is really only increasing the volume). Troy from spectre is amazing, he just did my bands new EP. I would recommend him, he has done underoath and has worked with CLA, Andy Wallace and many more famous engineer.

Sniff. Sob. So good.

I am mixing a 3 song demo that I need mastered. But I have to go the bedroom warrior route.

Who do you think is good on this forum that would master a 3 (short) song demo for me for $100?

Like, who is the best bedroom warrior on Sneap that would master 10 mins of songs for $100?
The tracks need it too, standard tuned thrash is hard to stack up next to wall of sound 7 strings :-(

I need it done over the weekend as I want to take some CD's to NAMM with me.

Here is an old mix (with mistakes)

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8541677 to give you an idea

The place I was talking about (with the gear I listed) does mastering for $55 an hour and was able to get 3 of my songs done in an hour. If the mixes are good you should be able to get your price under $100.

I don't know if they could turn it around for you that quick though. If you want to take a stab at them being able to do it the number is (three one five)-685-nine zero six four.

Ask for Ron. They might be able to hook you up.

Here's the whole album: http://www.offroad-band.com/audio/track1/offroad - track1.rar
This their website: http://www.offroad-band.com/offroad-audio.htm

It's actually the most challenging project I've done so far due to the amount of things to be recorded and mixed, the number and essence of the band's requests, the difficulty they experienced in pulling off some of their parts, a bunch of external factors that made the whole recording and mixing progress a chaos and so on. I did learn a load of stuff and gained a LOT of experience, though.

Thanks, man. The band sounds really great, I am downloading the album. I wish their site was in English too

They are one of the few bands that still have Bulgarian lyrics, which makes it pretty hard for them to gain significant international recognition but the album has earned them a lot of popularity here, in the few days since they released it and after all that's what they were aiming for in the first place. For the same reason there isn't an English version of the site for now.

Hi all,

Many thanks for all the great compliments on the mastering for Shadow Walker's recent project. I was excited when he told me that he'd be sending the album over to us for mastering. It's still pretty incredible to think about how the internet allows people from all over the world to collaborate like this.

It goes without saying that without the wonderful talents of the band and Shadow Walker's fine touch at the helm of recording and mixing this album would not have turned out so great. I'm particularly glad that there was a common goal to favor impact, dimension, and sound quality over the pitfalls that often plague hyper-compressed recordings.

Re: Revisions, SW is correct. I'll always allocate extra time for my sessions in case the artist/mixing engineer request revisions. Any professional mastering engineer should be willing to do this as well...it just takes an open line of communication and sometimes a little patience while everyone gets on the same page as far as changes.

Thanks again to all here. We're looking forward to being a part of the UMF community!

@ Shadow Walker: Thanks for posting the entire record man! That one song (7) really got me hooked.

@ v-master/Nathan: Congratulations again on that great master! Please stick around if time allows, great talent and expertise is always very welcome around here! :)

^ No problem, at all. The band will be very happy to know some of you guys like their music.

^^ Welcome to the forum, Nathan :kickass:

Man this thread has totally convinced me to invest in a pro mastering. Jacob Hansen, who is a fellow dane, does it for a good price. Under 20min of material for 2500dkkr. Which is about $456. Not too shabby from a dude with his track record.
