wtb: Mesa Recto 4x12

Haha, just sent you a PM Lasse, but on the topic of Mesa 4x12's I have just picked up a new Blackstar 4x12 which is a direct ringer for the Mesa Standard cab, same dimensions to within -/+1cm, and weighs exactly the same. Birch Ply, handwired, V30's etc. The craftsmanship is incredible. I'll be posting some clips in the next few days if you wanted to hear it. Just a thought as the cabs retails for the same price as an Engl Standard (I paid £499).

Gorath, I don't doubt that the Blackstar is bitchin', and I really like the look and idea of it - but for a guy like Lasse, who is doing this professionally, I think the truth is he's probably gonna get more clients advertising that he has a Mesa cab than a Blackstar.

Totally man, but I know how expensive Mesa cabs are over here in Europe, I mean the Blackstar is literally half the price.

Agree'd whole-heartedly. When I have my buddy's Recto cab set up in my space I always have a much easier time getting clients to commit. Easily a wise investment. I went out and bought one to pair with my JCM 2000 head, as my buddys Mesa cab really helped bring the head's tone to a new level.

So yea, it'll help get clients in. It doesn't hurt that the cab fuckin rocks and sounds mint. It brings any head I put through it on another level.

Nice, nice choice, sir! To my ears the Blackstar sounded better than the Mesa I tried next to it. Sounded better to my wallet, too, but that's obvious. The Blackstar didn't seem to be as woofy as the Mesa, and seemed a bit more focussed, BUT that could be that the cad could have been one or 2 inches more over or whatnot. The other guitarist in my band who bought the Blackstar is loving it with his Engl Invader 100, too!
